Unlock Your Flow Workshop

A glimpse into our morning of movement and reflection.

A Dream Come True

Still dreaming about this day—Unlock Your Flow finally happened! After months of envisioning, dealing with delays, and trying to get everything just right, it felt surreal to see it come to life. When I started thinking of collaborative events to host in my new studio, the first person I knew I wanted to partner with was Dr. Cierra Kaler-Jones, founder of Unlock Your Story and my dance sister.

Grateful to partner with Dr. Cierra Kaler-Jones of Unlock Your Story!

From day one, Cierra was the perfect collaborator—understanding when life threw curveballs, patient through the delays, and excited every step of the way. We’ve walked parallel paths over the years, supporting each other’s growth through movement, journaling, and storytelling. I’ve had the honor of facilitating one of her virtual retreats, and she’s brought so much joy and light to my R&B Yoga Flows. This workshop felt like the natural evolution of our friendship and shared vision.

Vision for the Workshop

The goal was simple but meaningful: create a reflective morning where movement and storytelling could come together to help women connect deeply with themselves and our budding community. I wanted it to be more than just a yoga class—it had to be a soulful experience, a pause button from the chaos of life, where women could breathe, move, reflect, and leave feeling empowered.

As September approached, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. Hosting a workshop as part of my soft opening was bold—and, let’s be real—kind of risky. But I believed in the vision. I believed in the magic that happens when women come together with intention. So I leaned into it and DID the thing. And let me tell you—it was worth every anxious moment.

How it went…

The workshop was intimate, warm, and exactly what I hoped for. We began with meditation, easing into the day by letting go of whatever we carried with us and grounding into what we wanted to “unlock.” From there, we flowed through a soulful R&B yoga practice that felt like poetry in motion—smooth, grounding, and freeing all at once.

As we journaled, we reflected on Toni Morrison’s words: “I am my best thing.” It was a reminder that we don't need to search outside ourselves for validation or worth. We already have everything we need within. We spent time vision mapping for the Fall, creating space to get intentional about the things we want to call into our lives. And perhaps the most special moment of all—we wrote love letters to our future selves, a powerful exercise that felt deeply personal and affirming.

Why This Workshop Mattered

In a world where we, as women, are often stretched thin—balancing careers, relationships, family, and everything in between—taking time to pause, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves isn’t just a luxury; it’s a necessity. This workshop wasn’t just about me bringing a personal dream to life. It was about addressing a need we all share: the need for space to reflect, restore, and reconnect with ourselves and each other.

Yoga and journaling have always been anchors in my life, helping me regain clarity when things feel chaotic and restoring my sense of balance. Through this workshop, I wanted to share that same sense of peace and empowerment with others—because we all deserve a moment to breathe, release, and realign.

Gratitude and Reflections

I am beyond grateful to the beautiful women who showed up, trusted the process, and opened their hearts to this experience. There’s something so powerful about coming together in a space like this—where movement, storytelling, and connection meet. A huge thank you to Cierra for your energy, collaboration, and friendship. You made this experience so much richer.

Reflecting on this day, I feel an overwhelming sense of relief and gratitude. There were moments leading up to it where I doubted myself—wondering if everything would come together, if people would show up, if the experience would live up to the vision. But it did, and then some.

This workshop was just the beginning. I can’t wait to host the next one, building on what we started here, and continuing to grow together. Here’s to unlocking our flow, one breath, one journal entry, and one intentional movement at a time.
